Privacy policy

This describes what ColorScreens actually does today rather than what a policy template assumes. Where something is planned but not yet running, it says so.

The short version

There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and no color you pick is ever sent to a server. Every calculation happens in your browser.

What is stored on your device

One item, in your browser's local storage: whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your device, it is not a cookie, and clearing your browser data removes it. If you never touch the theme toggle, nothing is stored at all.

Colors you choose

Colors, palettes and settings live in the part of the address after the hash symbol. That part of a URL is never sent to a server by design, which is why a link can carry your exact color without anyone else seeing it. Sharing a link shares the color with whoever you send it to, and with nobody else.

Server logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider, which keeps standard access logs containing IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. These are generated by the host rather than by this site, are used to keep the service running and to detect abuse, and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile.

Advertising

Advertising is not running yet. Space is reserved for it in the layout, but no advertising code is loaded and no advertising network currently receives anything about your visit.

When advertising is switched on, this page will be updated before it goes live, and it will name the network, describe what that network collects, and explain how to opt out. Ads will never appear inside the fullscreen color view.

Analytics

None is running. If analytics is added later it will be a privacy-focused, cookieless product that does not track individuals across sites, and this page will be updated to name it before it is enabled.

Children

The site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects nothing that could identify anyone of any age.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to request, correct or delete. If that changes, this page will change first.

Changes to this policy

The date at the top reflects the last substantive change. Any change that affects what is collected will be made here before the change takes effect, not after.
